Choosing handbags and purses that actually resell

Materials, hardware, stitching, lining — the four checks that separate a bag that sells out from one that gets marked down.

Buyers often ask us what makes one handbag range outperform another at the same price point. It's rarely the silhouette — it's the small quality signals a customer feels within five seconds of picking it up.

We look at four things on every incoming range: PU vs genuine-leather feel and edge finish, zip and clasp hardware weight, stitch tension at stress points (handles, base corners), and lining quality including a proper interior pocket.

Bags that pass all four checks reorder at roughly twice the rate of ones that don't. It's a small filter with an outsized impact on your sell-through and margin.
